学完你能读懂波形示波器(Waveform)的横轴与纵轴,用它判断曝光、对比度与裁剪(Clipping),并把读数翻译成 Lift/Gamma/Gain 的调整方向。

概念说明CONCEPTS

波形示波器(Waveform)是画面的"亮度地图"——横轴与画面左右一一对应,纵轴表示亮度,0 为纯黑、1023 为纯白。三种示波器的分工见 视频示波器,这张卡只深挖它一个。

  • 左右对应画面:波形左边就是画面左边;天空过曝时,你能直接看到波形右上方顶到天花板。
  • 高度即亮度:主体落在中段 = 中间调正常;整团波形压底 = 偏暗,集体顶上天 = 偏亮。
  • 宽度即对比:波形上下拉得开 = 对比足;挤成一条细带 = 画面发灰,缺黑也缺白。
  • 越界即裁剪:跌破 0 或顶破 1023 的部分被裁掉(Clipping),细节永久丢失——宁可贴边,不要穿边。

操作步骤STEPS

  1. Color 页面选中镜头,点右下角工具栏最右侧的 Scopes 按钮
  2. 点示波器面板的下拉箭头,选择 Waveform切换到 Waveform
  3. 看波形整体位置:大部分痕迹应待在 0–1023 之间,不偏顶也不偏底
  4. 找画面里的最亮处(高光),确认它接近但不越过 1023
  5. 找画面里的最暗处(阴影),确认它接近但不跌破 0检查黑白两个端点
  6. 曝光不对就回一级色轮:整体明暗动 Gain 主轮,压暗部动 Lift 主轮(见 一级调色轮
  7. 边调边盯波形:痕迹会跟着你的手走,借此确认调整方向和幅度

练习PRACTICE

  1. 遮住检视器只看 Waveform,判断当前镜头偏亮、偏暗还是正常,再看画面验证。
  2. Gain 主轮大幅右拖让波形顶破 1023,观察画面高光的变化,然后点 Reset 复位。

常见问题FAQ

波形上的一个点对应画面的哪里?

横轴对应画面的左右位置,纵轴只表示亮度——波形里没有"上下",画面的纵向信息被折叠掉了。

人脸的痕迹应该在什么高度?

多数情况下落在中间偏上比较自然,关键是同一组镜头里人脸高度要一致,别一个镜头亮一个镜头暗。

波形挤在中间一小条,怎么办?

说明画面发灰、缺对比:用 Lift 主轮把底部压向 0、Gain 主轮把顶部推向 1023,把波形"拉开"。

波形一直在跳动,该看哪一刻?

正常,它实时跟随画面。暂停在你要调的那一帧看静态读数,调好后再播放,确认全程都不越界。

Concepts概念说明

The Waveform is a "brightness map" of the frame — its horizontal axis mirrors the image left to right, and its vertical axis is luminance: 0 is pure black, 1023 is pure white. For how it shares duties with the other scopes see Video Scopes; this card goes deep on this one.

  • Left-right mirrors the frame: the left of the trace is the left of the image; a blown-out sky shows up as trace pinned to the ceiling on the upper right.
  • Height means brightness: the subject in the middle band means healthy midtones; everything hugging the floor means dark, everything pinned to the ceiling means bright.
  • Spread means contrast: a tall trace means strong contrast; squashed into a thin band means a flat, gray image lacking both blacks and whites.
  • Out of range means clipping: anything below 0 or past 1023 is clipped and its detail is gone for good — grazing the edge is fine, crossing it is not.

Steps操作步骤

  1. On the Color page, select a shot and click the Scopes button at the far right of the lower toolbar
  2. Click the panel's dropdown arrow and choose WaveformSwitching to the Waveform
  3. Check the trace's overall position: most of it should sit between 0 and 1023, not pinned to either end
  4. Find the brightest part of the frame (highlights) and confirm it approaches but never crosses 1023
  5. Find the darkest part (shadows) and confirm it approaches but never drops below 0Checking the black and white points
  6. If exposure is off, go back to the primary wheels: Gain master for overall brightness, Lift master to pull shadows down (see Primary Color Wheels)
  7. Watch the trace as you adjust: it follows your hand, confirming your direction and amount

Practice练习

  1. Cover the viewer and, from the Waveform alone, call the current shot bright, dark, or normal — then uncover and verify.
  2. Drag the Gain master wheel hard right until the trace punches past 1023, watch what happens to the highlights, then hit Reset.

FAQ常见问题

Where in the frame does a point on the trace correspond to?

The horizontal axis maps to left-right position in the frame; the vertical axis is brightness only — the image's up-down information is folded away.

At what height should a face sit?

Usually a bit above the middle looks natural. What matters most is consistency: faces across the same scene should sit at the same height, not bright in one shot and dark in the next.

My trace is squashed into a thin band in the middle — what now?

That's a flat, low-contrast image: use the Lift master to push the bottom toward 0 and the Gain master to push the top toward 1023 — stretch the trace open.

The trace keeps jumping around — which moment do I read?

That's normal; it follows the picture in real time. Park on the frame you're grading for a static read, then play through to confirm nothing crosses the limits.
